MISCTELLANIES.

A Devonſhire cow, the property of the Earl of Farnham, was killed at Farnham, county of Cavan, Ircland, on the 31ſt ultimo. in conlequence of head thign being broken by an accident, before her tattening was finiſhed, having bas only four months grals, reared a bull.calf in 1804, and was not in calf, wnen killed; weighed as follow: viz-

N.B. The blood was not weighed, as the cow was obliged to be killed, where the accident happened.

There was a very large fhew of Dorſet and Somerſetſhire" ſheep, o6 the E5th-and z6th instant, at Appleſhaw. A great quantity of Somerſerſhire ewes came 119 for grazing as early as the 13th; the prime ewes of that coun- ty had a quick ſale at an early hour on Tuelday the»5th- But five thon- 409 of th- Dorſetſhire ewes did not come in till the middle of tue day (Tyeſday which had a wonderful cffe& on the prices; they fell on that ze- count, as much as five ſhillings per hcad, and the next day as much as eleven hillings per head. Abut two thouſand of the Dorſet were unſsld, and ſome of the interior ſort of Somerſet were Jett to go to different fairs. Prices irom twenty to twenty-Äve ſhillings per head.

Ihe general price vf cheeſe at Derby fair on the z2th Oct. was from fifty five Millings to fitlty-cight per cwt At Loughborough on the 2z4ath, Fitty Four Ihillings to fit! v-ieven ſMillings, coloured fiſty-eight Mhillings to Üxty ene Mhiliings. And at Chelterfield on thc 25th ult. fitty-ſeven ihilüngs to ÜAxty Millings.

A cow belonging to the R-v. Mr. Fletcher, near Bainfley, has lately calved three calves, which with the mother are likely. to do well.

At Falkirk Iryfß in Scotland, up vard of ten thouſand head of black cat- tle were exmibited. Trvſt is not a chartercd fair, but an appointed meeting» where the Highland and Engliſh drovers meet.;

The greateſt ſhew ot pigs ever remembered attended Shrewſbury fair, and ſales-were eff. Sed at the late prices.

A pair of canary birds, belonging to a young man in Darlington, have this lcalon reared twenty-four young ones. Ehe hen is only a yearling bird; ſhe laid about thirty hx eggs.

Eſtates in Scotland.

The rent of the ſarm of Sir John Dalrymple in Heriot Muir, formerly two hundred pounds a ycar, was within theſe few weeks let at one thou- ſand pounds; and by the lait let of another of his farms at Coufland, thirty years purchaſe was paid for the renewal of the leaſe

A ſheep farm in Berwickſhire let, nineteen years ago, at twenty-ſix Pounds, then conſidered a fair rent; was lately let at one hundred and €wenty pounds.
