Ix the preceding obſervations, a number of hints have been given, PE out the improvements of which this country is capable; and it 1s only neceſlary to recapitulate ſome af the moſt 1mportant.

I. WASTE LANDS.—The cultivation of the waſte Iznds in this county, is undoubtedly the firſt obje that ought to bz attended to. A county like that of Lancaſter. diſtinguiſhe for the opulence and ſpirit of its inhabitants,(hould never ref, whilſt a ſingle acre remains, that does not yield ſome valuable production.‘There is ſcarcely a rood in it, that might not yield ſome ſpecies of grain, or ſome ſort of uſcful paſture, or ſome kind of valuable timber, Were thoſe waſte lan ds mzde
