At Lancaſter they have a meaſure called a windle, which is three Winchefter buſhels,
At Preſton the windle of wheat, beans, and barley is three and a half Wincheſter buſhels; but of late 220 1b. has been reckoned a windle of wheat; they have alſo a meaſure at Preſ- ton called a peck, which is twenty-eight quarts, four of which arc called a windle.
Weights.— There are three different weights expreſſed under the general term, hundred weight; namely, 1001b. 1121b, and 120lb. The'ſtone varies. In Liverpool 201b. is the weight allowed far the ſeveral articles under that denomination, as beef, hay, ſtraw,&c. and probably all the articles produced from land,
Butter is required to weigh 18 ounces, avoirdupoiſe, or nay be ſeized by the magiſtrates.
