ON THE USE AND APPLICATION OF HAY TEA, AS A CHEAP AND'ECONOMICAL FOOD, FOR THE SUPPORT OF, STORE SWINE.- WITH HINTS ON THE BEST KINDS; THEIR HA- BITS'AND UTILITY; THE VALUE OF THEIR MANURE3 AND A TABULAR VIEW OF THE PROPORTION OP DIFFER- ENT SORTS TO BE KEPT,

To the Editor of the Agricultural Magazine,

S1R; 6

SHE communications which I have the honour to offer; T will, I trust, be deemed.of Sufficient importance to merit your notice.

To discuss and conzider discoveries in Agriculture, and to recommend such as ate usefal, is a leading object of yout Patriotic exertions,

But to guard against Scarcity, and to meet the increased population of the nation, and its greater prospective increase, (arising more immediately from the adoption of vaccination, and to render that invaluable discovery a never ceasing bles- zing to the community) by augmenting the produce of the earth:==-these are objects, which canvot fail to excite all your care and attention.

Population, by a law of nature, wäll'be kept down to the Jevel of Subsistence.

Now it is the opinion of Mr. Maltlius and others, that this iSland is already peopled up to its preSent produce; if there- fore, there Should arize a greater increase of population, the neceszity of enlarging the means of Subsistence, by improye« ments in agriculture, without resorting to expensive and Precarious Supplies from foreign markets, is Self-evident,

If then, by the general adoption of a discovery, which I have the honour of communicating, the rezult Shall be-- 473 obvious increase throughout the kingdom, of both its animul and vegetable productions,(and of wich it is 80 capable"), it will ever offer to my mind a Pperſect zource of heart«ielt gratification.)
