London, Tueſday, Fuly 24.--A very ingenious mechanic in Piccadilly, has lately received a premium from the Society for encouraging Arts and Manufsa&ures, for 1ihe invention of a machine without a fail to threſfh corn. It has been uſed in the preſence of Lord Somerville and ſeveral members of the Board of Agriculture, all of whom declared it a very valuable machine. The great ule of it is to ſave time, the expedition ot its proceſs being aſto- niſhing. When the experiment alluded to was made, a truls of wheaten ſtraw trom the market, being put under it, more than three pints of grain weit obtained from the ſtraw, which was ſuch as is uſed in common in fables, &c. The machine is worked by a ſingle horſe, and principally confſitts of a cylinder of a large mag itude: which turns borizontally, and is pertorated with holes with two horizontal wheels working in uniſon. Ihe grain is y9 way bruiſed by the proceſs, but is conſidered more fit for ſowing than that threſhed in the ordinary way.
