C.260,)
TO OUR READERS AND CORRESPONDENTS.
W are glad to hear from our Correspondent who has favoured us with the article respecting the Farm at Rainbouillet, and hope that he will favour us with Some für- ber partieulars within bis own kuowledge, on the Subject of foreign agriculture. X The proposed article op the effect of the bew Corn Law, by our friend J. L. D. of. the Inner Temple, we can, antiCipate
„(from a knowledge of his talent) will be very acceptable'to
our readers.
While we continue to feel and to acknowledge our,obliga- tions to Agricola Northumbriensis, we cannot avoid declaring our difference of opinion on the frequent discussion of the question on tithes in our periodical work. Our publication is not designed to promote Reform, either in Church or. State; we call il, a Work,“ devoted to Farmers and Rural Affairs," and to these useful individuals and their important ocCCupa- tions, we are determined as much as possible to conüine It.
We are extremely Sorry that the ammunition of Agricola Meridionalis arrived too late, not only for inzertion but eyen for inspection this month. He well knows our established regulation, with regard to. tbe time the papers Should be re- ceived for their introduction in the Magazine of the current month; and he need not be informed of tbe intimation we were constrained to give last month to P. R. that,“a requisi- ton of immediate insertion is by no means agreeable to us, because inconvenient for the purposes of the work, unless the subject of the communication be of a temporary nature, and the design of it would be defeated by delay."
We tbank the friend of Mr. M“Arthur for the information he has given us respecting the purchase made by that gentle- Man, of Some of the Spanish rains from his Majesty's flock, for.the Supply of his extensive Sheep-tarms at. Botany, Bay» and if this Correspondent should favour us with any interesting Particulars regarding that concern, we Shall not fail to insert them in our Miscellany the very first opportunity.
