THE ORCHARDS T

THe orchards of the kingdom are a material branch Of its agriculture;- and it is expeâÊed the fandard fruit- trees will ſoon be much improved, from the excrtions of Tomas SKIP DyorT BuUcKNALL, Eſq. who has been very afliduous in eſtabliſhing the ſcience of Orcharding, as patronized by the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufa@ures, and Commerce, and publiſhed in the ith, 12h, and 13th volúmes: of theirs valuable TranſaRions, conformable to the praâice introduced at

Sittingbourne, in the county of Kent, in the year 17909.

In thoſe books, not only what ought to be done, is fully pointed out, but many uſefal hints âre given to guard the planters and fruit-growers againſt the uſual effes of negle(t and miſtakes, both in the trees and their culture,:
