EVENING.

Keep us from sin, from worldly care, From fear of man, and Satan's snare; That in Thine arms, securely blest, We may lie down and take our rest.

If evil have defiled this day, Wash it with JESU's blood away; Nor let a spot remain to tell How from Thy holy path we fell.

Let heavenly angels round us keep Their vigils whilst we calmly sleep; That so, protected from our foes, Our wearied heads may find repose.

May all our slumbers, soft and light, Aid us to live next day aright, And give us strength, that we may still Walk in Thy way and do Thy will.

Thus rule us, guard us, LORD of love, Till round Thy Throne we meet above, Till, night for ever past away,

We sing Thy praise through endless day. Amen.
