INFANTS' WORSHIP: PRAYER.

5 May but His blessing on me rest, His love within me dwell, Then I shall know, howe'er distressed, That with me all is well.

6 And when I lay me down to die, I shall not die alone;

His angels will stand waiting by

To bear me to His throne.

Worship the Father in spirit and in truth.John 4. 23.

1 WHEN daily I kneel down to pray,

As I am taught to do,

God does not care for what I say Unless I feel it too.

2 Yet foolish thoughts my heart beguile,

And when I pray or sing,

I'm often thinking all the while About some other thing.

3 Some idle play, or childish toy,

Can send my thoughts abroad,

Though this should be my greatest joyTo love and seek the Lord.

4 Oh, let me never, never dare

To act the trifler's part, 157

Or think that God will hear a prayer That comes not from my heart.

6 But if I make His ways my choice, As holy children do,

548

Then while I seek Him with my voice, My heart will love Him too.

Lord, teach us to pray.- Luke 11. 1.

1 LORD, teach a little child to pray, Thy grace betimes impart; And grant Thy Holy Spirit may Renew my youthful heart.

2 A sinful creature I was born, And from my birth have strayed I must be wretched and forlorn Without Thy mercy's aid.

3 But Christ can all my sins forgive, And wash away their stain; Can fit my soul with Him to live, And in His kingdom reign.

4 To Him let little children come, For He has said they may; His bosom then shall be their home, Their tears He'll wipe away.

5 For all who early seek His face Shall surely taste His love; Jesus shall guide them by His grace, To dwell with Him above. DR. RYLAND

The Bright and Morning Star.- Rev. 22. 16.

1 JESUS, holy, undefiled, Listen to a little child;

Thou hast sent the glorious light Chasing far the silent night.

178

2 Thou hast sent the sun to shine O'er this glorious world of Thine, Warmth to give, and pleasant glow, On each tender flower below.

3 Thou, by whom the birds are fed, Give to me my daily bread; And Thy Holy Spirit give, Without whom I cannot live.

4 Make me, Lord, obedient, mild,

As becomes a little child;

All day long, in every way, Teach me what to do and say.

5 Let me never say a word That will make Thee angry, Lord; Help me so to live in love As Thine angels do above.

6 Make me, Lord, in work and play, Thine more truly every day;

And when Thou at last shalt come, Take me to Thy heavenly home. MRS. SHEPCOTE.

Feed My lambs.- John 21. 15.

1 AND is it true, as I am told, That there are lambs within the fold Of God's beloved Son?

That Jesus Christ, with tender care, Will in His arms most gently bear The helpless little one?
