TO OUR CORRESPONDENTS.

ESIROUS of dismisäing from our pages and our minds the discussion upon discussion," which

has lately occupied too much ofthe time of a Corres- pondent by whom it can be much better employed, and anxious to convince another valuable friend(Agricola Northumbriensis) that we would not unneceszarily di- late a Subjezt which had its rise in our own objections 3 we beg to observe that we have done every thing in our power to elicit the public opinion, and that we have in consequence received that of Several highly respectable and intelligent Correspondents. From one of these (Agricola Norfolciensis) we have received an advice which we hall always be desirous to obtain and adopt, and which, on the present Subject, directs us to decide by the majority of those who have already given their opinions. There appears to be then for the opinion of

Agricola Northumbriensis, Por S 5

A Practical Farmer, Agricola Norfolciensis, Pastorius, Mr. Bartley,

Tarmer Sandy, Mr. Carpenter.

A Scots Farmer,&c.

We must therefore admit it to be the opinion of 2 majority of our Correspondents, that we Should not re- pres the Discussion of Customs, Regulations,&c. re]a- tive to Agriculture; nor refuse admission to Such col- Jateral Subjects 55 may diffuse an agreeable variety through our labours, without deviating from their great end==the Cause and tbe Interests of Agriculture. And we trust our readers will be Satisfied that we have done our best to merit. their approbation in this particular, confident that our chief interest is involved in their good opinion,

We have it in commission from Agricola Northum- briensis, whose excuse, in his own words, is t090 Jate for our prezent Number, to apologize to Mr. Bartley
