Eight rams and nine ewes were this year disposed of, which were all that could be spared from the flock. Two ofthe rams went into Dorsetshire, where the breed is much approved by Some skilial judges of Sheep, and Seems likely to produce con giderable advantage by crossing with the common Sheep of the country.

Mr. Bridge's account of the improved value of Sheep and their wool, by crossing with ihe Spamsh.

Mr. Bridge, of Wintord Eagle, communicated this year the result of an experunent be bad made on three kinds of Sheep, viz. Dorset, half Spanish and half Dorset, and halt Spanish and half Mendip.

He kept theze Sheep from the year 1798, when they were Jambed; till February 1800, wben they were butchered as fat gheep; and havivg valued them in June 1798, be found the Carcases of each Sort, with two years wool which had been Shorn from them, tv yield at that time the following increase 3u value: LI 53 05

Half Spanish half Mendip=, 4 3.192'2 In theze experiments Mr. Bridge's woolstapler values the Dor- et wool at 13. 2id. a pound, and the half Spanish wool at 15. 44d. only; but as the Spanish cross in both cases increased the quantity of wool and as half Spanish wool has never, when its value was properly kuown, been Sold for less than 15. 9d. and generally more than 2s. a pound, there can be no doubt that tbe improvement in value, ariSing from the cro5s, is in both cases considerable.

Mr. Ridgway's Statement of Simalar results.

Mr. J. Ridgway, ot Upperton, in the parish of Yazor, in Herefordsbire, cowmunicated an experiment, in which two Sheep, the one a Ryeland, and the other half Spanish and half Kyeland, of equal weights, were fed by him together; the balf Spanish Sheep produced in a year 2 1b. 12 02s. more wool and 5 ib. more mutton than the Ryelander. This gentleman, whom his Majesty graciously permitted to have rams from the Spanish flock Some years ag0, has also Shewn by his accounts what the wool ot bis Bock of about 16 Score Sheep, has been 80 much increased both in quantity and in value by the Spanish Cr055, as to have produced nearly twiee as much money for each clip after the Spanish blood was established in it, as it usually did before.
