Mrs. GaTFoRD, of Horſham, in Suſſex, who diéèd in July laſt,‘had lived, for the laft 20 years of hér life, without going beyond hér own thrédlold. She left.à bequeſt of 151, a year for the maintenance of her cats and dogs. She di- reéted, in her will; that her: body ſhould be e uninterred, for the ſpace of a Month after her death;---and, during this time, bathed every night, in ſpirits, to prevent its ſmell from bc¿coming dffenlivé. It was, then, by, thêr own ordérs, to be incloſed within, four coffins,---one over another,---and thé exterior one of marble.“Theſe direétions were púnfually obeyed by her éxé-

cutors': Ánd ſhe was buried on the 13th of Auguſt lat.(

Tomas BARBER, Eſq. Who lately died at Oſborne’s Hotel, in thé Adel- phi, London, had acquired a fortune of 200,000. ſterling, as a free merchant at Caltutta. He returned to England to enjoy his acquifitions; but furviv&d

his arrival little more than a Weck. It might havé been pleaſing to leave thé prints of his induſtiy to brétliren or cl hildrén who were dear to him: But dying, hé declared, that he Knèw not, waecher he had a hfingle relative living!

Mr. Tomas FLOWER, who latély Ties At: Hallaltrow, was remarkable,-2 as having formed one of the largeſt and bé& Orreris that have ever bee ſeen in Britaih,---and’ as being ſuch an enthufßi H in the ſtudy of aſtronomy, thät any alluſion in converfatión to this ſcience, would“ irr liſtibly carry away his thoughts and his diſcourſe froim whätever other buſineſs or diſcuſſion’ he miSli€ happen to be engaged in.
