The Code of Agriculture, in one vol. 8yo., published in 1817, professes to be Ce ray ne i=) 7.©© 200 se: e a general view of the principles of the art, and an account of its most approved prac- tices.(Pref. p. 11.) By inspecting the contents of the work, however, it will be found that the term Agriculture, when applied tothe Code, must be taken in its more limited sense, and that the book extends only to the husbandry department.

The Encyclopedia of Agriculture combines territorial economy and husbandry: it is arranged on the model of the Encyclopedia of Gardening, and some idea of its com- prehensiveness may be formed from the following outline of its contents,
