298 MARTYRS,&.
O wondrous depth of grace Divine That He should bend so low;
And, Mary, O what joy’twas thine In His dear love to know:
Joy to be Mother of the Lorp; And thine the truer bliss,
In every thought, and deed, and word, To be for ever His.
And as He loves thee, Mother dear, We too will love thee well;
And in His Temple, year by year, Thy joy and glory tell.
Jxsu, the Virgin’s Holy Son, We praise Thee and adore,
Who art with Gop the FATHER One, And Spirit evermore. Amen.
This Hymn may also be uses, as Hymn 249, on other Festivals of St. Mary.
Waurtyrs,&- “ They ave before the Throne of GOD, and serve Him day and night it His temple.” 377 I OQ! round the Throne, a glorious band, The saints in countless myriads stand, Of every tongue redeemed to Gop, Arrayed in garments washed in Blood. Through tribulation great they came; They bore the cross, despised the shame; From all their labours now they rest, In Gop’s eternal glory blest. They see their Saviour face to face, And sing the triumphs of His grace;| Him day and night they ceaseless praise; To Him the loud thanksgiving raise: “Worthy the LAMB, for sinners slain, Through endless years to live and reign; ‘Thou hast redeemed us by, Thy Blood, And made us kings and priests to Gop.” O may we tread the sacred road That holy saints and martyrs trod; Wage to the end the glorious strife, And win, like them, a crown of life, Amen.
