SPIRITUAL SONGS.
" But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot." GEN. viii. 9.
( AIR- Dites- moi Elise.)
As the dove, wandering forth, Found not a dwelling, While o'er each spot of earth Waters were swelling; Till o'er the rolling wave Welcome appearing,
Rose the green branch that gave Refuge and cheering.
So, when the waters, fed By sorrow's fountain, Wide as our view are spread O'er plain and mountain; Far may the spirit flee, Restless and weary, ( Borne o'er that mantling sea, Noxious and dreary.)
