THEIR MAJESTIES' CORONATION.

The Gospel. To be read by another Bishop, the King and Queen with the people standing.

S. Matthew xxii. 15.

THEN went the Pharisees,

and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. And they sent out unto him their disciples, with the Hero­dians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teach­est the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cæsar, or not? But Jesus per­ceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? Shew me the tri­bute- money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith

unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Cæsar's. Then saith he unto them, Ren­der therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar's: and unto God the things that are God's. When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Then shall be sung the Creed following, the King and Queen with the people standing, as before.

BELIEVE in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible:

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only- begotten Son of God, Begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God, Begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father, By whom all things were made;

Who for us men, and for our Salvation came down from hea­

ven, And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, And was made man, And was crucified also for us under Pon­tius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead: Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord and giver of life, Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glo­rified, Who spake by the Pro­phets. And I believe one Catho­lick and Apostolick Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. And I

look for the resurrection of the dead, And the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Sermon.

At the end of the Creed one of the Bishops shall be ready in the pulpit, placed against the pillar at the north- east corner of the theatre, and begin the Sermon, which is to be short, and suitable to the great occa­sion.

And whereas the King was uncovered during the singing of the Litany and the beginning of the Communion Service; when the Sermon begins he shall put on his cap of crimson velvet turned up with ermins, and so continue to the end of it.
