a Mine's a better country,

Where there is no sin: Where the tones of sorrow Never enter in. Jesus loves, etc.

8 But a little pilgrim

Must have garments clean, If he'd wear the white robe, And with Christ be seen, Jesus loves, etc.

4 Jesus, hear and save me; Teach me to obey; Holy Spirit, guide me In the heavenly way. Jesus loves, etc.

5 I'm a little pilgrim,

And a stranger here, But my home in heaven Cometh ever near. Jesus loves, etc.

I know not how to go out or come in.- 1 Kings 3. 7.

1 I AM but young; be Thou my Guide, My Father, and my Friend;

In the young morning of my days My prayers to Thee ascend.

2 I am but young, but prone to sin, And daily go astray; Direct my youthful feet to tread The strait and narrow way.

3 I am but young; I have a soul Which must for ever live; And that it may be ever Thine, Thy mercy to'me give.

I am but young; but I may die, For many young depart;

Dear Saviour, now create me Thine In spirit and in heart.

8 Oh, wash me in the sacred stream Thy bleeding wounds supply; And clothe me with that spotless dress Blest spirits wear on high.

I. K. PELLY.

The Lord is very pitiful.-James 5. 11.

1 THOU blessèd Jesus, pity me, A little pilgrim child; Help me to love and follow Thee, Unfearing, undefiled.

2 They say the world is full of sin, More full than I can tell: Teach me its journey to begin, So that I end it well.

3 Thou art so kind, that I may call Thee, Father, and my Friend; So great, Thou knowest, seest all, And canst from harm defend.

4 Then keep me loving, humble, true, Be Thou my Pattern, Lord; 37 And guide me all life's dangers through By Thy most holy word. H. BATEMAN.

Leaving us an example.- 1 Pet. 2. 21

1 LAMB of God, I look to Thee, Thou shalt my example be; Thou art gentle, meek, and mila; Thou wast once a little child.

2 Fain I would be as Thou art; Give me Thy obedient heart; Thou art pitiful and kind; Let me have Thy loving mind.

3 Let me above all fulfil God my heavenly Father's will; Never His good Spirit grieve, Only to His glory live.

4 Loving Jesus, gentle Lamb, In Thy gracious hands I am: Make me, Saviour, what Thou art; Live Thyself within my heart.

6 I shall then show forth Thy praise, Serve Thee all my happy days; Then the world shall always see Christ, the holy Child, in me.

C. WESLEY.
