GOD THE FATHER: PROVIDENCE.

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.Psa. 33. 5.
1 THY goodness, Lord, our souls confess, Thy goodness we adore;
A spring, whose blessings never fail, A sea without a shore.
2 Sun, moon, and stars, Thy love attest In every cheerful ray;
Love draws the curtains of the night, And love restores the day.
3 Thy bounty every season crowns With all the bliss it yields; With joyful clusters bend the vines, With harvests wave the fields.
4 But chiefly Thy compassions, Lord, Are in the gospel seen; There, like the Sun, Thy mercy shines Without a cloud between.

1 Ir is but little that I know,
But little I can do;
I cannot tell which way to go, Life's tangled journey through.
2 But this I know, that God is wise, And very, very good;
His loving hand my want supplies, Home, comfort, health, and food.
3 Ard well I know- Oh, happiness, To know and feel it true!That He, through Christ the Lord, will bless With His salvation too.

To them that have no might He increaseth strength. 1 YES, God is good; in earth and sky, From ocean depths and spreading wood, Ten thousand voices seem to cry,
-Isa. 40. 29.
" God made us all, and God is good."
4 Why, then, should doubt, or why should fear Disturb or trouble me!
I know that God is always near,
And loves unchangeably.

He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.Acts 17. 25.
1 THERE's not a bird with lonely nest
In pathless wood or mountain crest,
Nor meaner thing, which does not share, God, in Thy paternal care.
2 Each barren crag, each desert rude, Holds Thee within its solitude;
And Thou dost bless the wanderer there, Who makes his solitary prayer.
3 In busy mart or crowded street, No less than in the still retreat,
Thou, Lord, art near, our souls to bless With all a parent's tenderness!
4 And every moment still doth bring Thy blessings on its loaded wing; Widely they spread through earth and sky, And last through all eternity!
5 And we, where'er our lot is cast, While life and thought and feeling last, Through all our years, in every place, Will bless Thee for Thy boundless grace. B. W. NOEL.

Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive.Psa. 86. 5.

2 The sun that keeps his trackless way, And downward pours Lis golden flood, Night's sparkling hosts, all seem to say In accents clear, that God is good.
3 The merry birds prolong the strain, Their song with every spring renewed; And balmy air, and falling rain, Each softly whispers," God is good."
4 I hear it in the rushing breeze; The hills that have for ages stood, The echoing sky and roaring seas, All swell the chorus," God is good."
5 Yes, God is good, all Nature says, By God's own hand with speech endued. And man in louder notes of praise, Should sing for joy that God is good.
6 For all Thy gifts we bless Thee, Lord; But chiefly for our heavenly food,
Thy pardoning grace, Thy quick'ning word;
These prompt our song that God is good ELIZA FOLLEN& J. H. GURNEY.
