FOREWARD
I first met Mr. Mieczyslaw Chers ztein in the early days of April 1945 at the Displaced Persons Center in Mosbach , Germany . He introduced himself and spoke to me of his experiences during the past six years. His remarks made a deep impression upon me and showed that he was a keen observer. Several months later he came to Stuttgart and presented to me a Manuscript which I am happy to, see is now being made available to the public in printed form.
Mr. Chers ztein's manuscript is additional testimony in the case against Nazism . When I read it through, I first realized the full meaning of what I had seen in the Concentration Camps which were uncovered during our race across Southern Germany . I recalled a scene at one of the Concentration Camp for Jews of the various Ghettos in the vicinity of Landsberg am Lech when I first arrived and I was met with the questions: Where are our wives, children, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters?"" What is the use of going on living when we have seen with our own eyes our nearest and dearest ones burned alive?"" Who is going to avenge us?" When 1 interrogated them individually, they disclosed details which I later found confirmed in this Manuscript .
The main contribution of Mr. Chers zte in is his record of the organization and liquidation of the" Ghettos" in Poland. It was a diabolical, carefully conceived and executed plan, which places the
